About Us

Julie and two of her clients

We met the first day of law school orientation and have been best friends since.   After law school we each had three kids in four years.  We’ve enjoyed a short stint of legal work and a long and continuing stint of mother work.  Instead of wearing short skirts to court and saying things like “Objection, Your Honor” and “You can’t handle the truth,” we’ve now become “in-house counsel” to a demanding but charming clientele.  Where power lunches consist of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches in a picnic basket on the back porch and mediations are usually about who shot whom first with the Nerf gun.  And we’ve now expanded the services in our firm by becoming a couple of those… {whisper}… weird homeschoolers with freakishly unsocialized children.

Gasp!

Kim and her clients (NOT the bunny though…we don’t represent him. Yet.)

So there.

We like to think black yoga pants are the new denim jumper in homeschooling attire. We don’t grind our own wheat but we do like to bake fresh bread. We don’t have organic farms but we’d secretly like to. We believe in handwritten thank-you notes, homegrown tomatoes, and saying “m’am and sir.”  We like our men in seersucker, our babies in smocked daygowns and we refuse to wear white before Easter. The things that make us happy are simple ~ a good cup of coffee, a long conversation with our best sister-girlfriend,  fresh flowers picked by little hands, the smell of clean babies…there are too many to list.

And that’s why we have this little blog. So we can talk about it all. Don’t be afraid to check in often. We won’t bite. And you can even leave a comment.

Just don’t dare tell us you broke out your white sandals before Easter.

We’re serious.
