It’s moments like these…

by mommyesquire on February 5, 2010

The Mommies, Esquire have their “moments.”  Usually, it’s a glimpse of one of our kids doing something sweet, funny, etc.  Sometimes, it’s when something gives you pause….

Says Kim:

My oldest son has wanted to take guitar lessons forever.  I finally signed him up for guitar classes.  So, all three boys and I went to the music store to buy Will a guitar.  Will’s two little brothers were just as happy for Will to get the guitar, as they would have been for themselves to receive a new gift.  This is a time when I wish I had a sister or brother.  It’s moments like these when I’m glad my boys have each other….

Jack is so happy that Will has this new guitar. Look at how proud he is of his big brother.

It’s Friday night and my boys are curled up on the sofa together watching a movie.  Will has his “big brother arms” around his two little brothers.  Jack has his head on Will’s shoulder and George is curled up against Will sucking his thumb (no comments, please….I will deal with this sooner or never).  For now, it is peaceful…which is uncommon in a house full of boys.  It’s times like this when I remind myself that they do love each other in spite of arguing over who gets to swing on the tire swing first or who farted at the dinner table (usually followed by snickers and snorting).  Yes, it’s quiet.  It won’t be so quiet in an hour or so when I put them all in a sudsy bath and hope that the bubbles do some scrubbing magic.  I’m sure it won’t be quiet in the morning when I am awaken by Jack prying my eye lids open or George screaming that he can’t find his sock monkey.  Anyway, there are just days when you are glad that God blessed you with three rambunctious little boys.  Today is one of those days.

The boys, trying to be "neighborly," as they talk to the kids next door...and to the dog...and to the parents...and to the cats, etc.

The photo of your boys on the fence is excellent – They will surely love to have that when they are grown – make several copies for them :-)

Okay, so now I’m feeling really guilty that at 4, my child doesn’t have a sibling, yet. Kids 5 years apart is okay, right? Please say yes….
