If the only prayer you said in your whole life was, “thank you,” that would suffice. ~Meister Eckhart

1 : conscious of benefit received <for what we are about to receive make us truly thankful>
2 : expressive of thanks <thankful service>
3 : well pleased : glad <was thankful that it didn’t rain>
— thank·ful·ness noun
The Mommies, Esquire sometimes need to pull out the ol’ dictionary. The word “thankful” is thrown around quite a bit at this time of year. It is easy to forget the true meaning of words that we use so often. Mommy, Esquire is truly thankful for the following:
1. We are thankful for our families and friends. We know we are blessed. We should be “expressive” of our thanks more often and are reminded this time of year that telling people how much you love them is something we should do every day.
2. We are thankful to live in a country where we can express our thoughts so freely. We demonstrate “freedom of speech” every time we log on to this blog. We are conscious of the benefits of living in our great nation. We’ll be expressing ourselves more in the future, so keep logging on to see what we’re doing!
3. We are thankful to worship freely. The Mommies, Esquire are unabashedly Christian and believe that we are truly one nation under God.
4. We are thankful to live another day. We believe that life is a gift. This past year has been hard on so many fronts….economically, relationally, etc….for so many people. Sometimes it is just great to get up in the morning, pull back the drapes and know that we have a brand new day to start all over. We are “well pleased” in knowing that we can always choose to do something different….try something new….never give up.
The Mommies, Esquire are thankful for so much. What are you thankful for?
